Content platform RIDI has reached a new milestone, recording daily transactions of 3.6 billion KRW on the 19th.
This year, RIDI focused on expanding its lineup of content across various genres, leading to significant achievements. The exclusive early release of animated original comics played a key role in boosting results. For instance, sales of the comic ‘Wind Breaker’ surged by over 80 times compared to before the animation aired, and the first print edition of the paperback sold out within a day of pre-orders, proving its popularity.
The exclusive release of the popular web novel ‘I Have to Survive or Die’ as an eBook edition generated 1.1 billion KRW in daily transactions on its first day. Additionally, the fantasy webtoon adaptation of the novel ‘Mistaken Hunter in Another World’ debuted at number one in RIDI’s fantasy monthly bestseller rankings. The original web novel’s transaction volume also increased by approximately 322% compared to 30 days before the webtoon’s release.
The flagship webtoon ‘Under the Oak Tree’ has also been a hit in the Japanese market, surpassing cumulative transactions of 10 billion JPY within six months of its exclusive serialization on the webcomic platform MechaComic. Similarly, the webtoon ‘Betraying Dignity’ recorded transactions of 1 billion JPY within just two weeks of its release on MechaComic, continuing to gain traction among Japanese readers.
RIDI plans to further strengthen its competitive edge in the global market by delivering diverse content, including comics, webtoons, and web novels. A company representative stated, “We will continue to discover and present compelling content that offers both emotion and enjoyment to a broader audience, solidifying our position in the market.”
